The Packaging Engineer is a leading technical role responsible for packaging design and quality, fit-for-use analysis, and failure root cause analysis
Act as a subject matter expert with internal clients to solve packaging related issues and provide recommendations at their plants as needed
Support assigned business units in all conversations regarding technical packaging, and serve as a technical liaison with the global category management team
Manage incoming and outgoing packaging-related claims involving internal and external customers, as well as suppliers.
Create and update packaging specifications and master data in accordance with functional and regulatory requirements.
2-5 years of industrial production and packaging design experience and/or undergraduate degree in Packaging or Chemical Engineering preferred
Knowledge of packaging types used by chemical plants such as corrugated boxes, FIBC, CIBC, drums, pallets, etc.
Familiarity of regulatory requirements (49 CFR, 29 CFR, GHS, etc.) pertaining to industrial packaging and dangerous goods shipments is a plus
Understanding of industrial production quality systems methodologies, including root cause analysis, corrective and preventive action plans
Organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with minimal supervision.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with individuals at all levels of Lanxess and supplier organizations.
Perform as an individual contributor of packaging expertise within global and regional multi-functional project teams
