Key responsibilities for this role include:
Provide product stewardship by developing subject matter expertise for products and processes. Utilize this subject matter expertise to advance process/product quality, safety, supply, cost of goods, and general continuous improvements.
Conduct complex investigations and provide technical evaluations for unplanned manufacturing events, with some support from Technical Services staff.
Collaborate cross functionally to resolve customer oriented requests and initatives.
Design functional requirements, risk assessments, protocol generation and execution for process, products and equipment.
Document all work appropriately in a cGMP environment. Prepare presentations for project updates. Will include the use of laboratory notebooks, meeting summaries, project status updates, protocols and reports.
Interact with vendor and outside contractors/ consultants as needed. Support project/trial financial estimates, annual budget and forecast duties.
Provide Technical Services troubleshooting and complete process improvement projects resulting from those findings.
Provide off-shift / weekend support to Operations as necessary.
Provide technical support to regulatory and management staff for changes and improvements to commercial transdermal products.
The minimum qualifications for this role are:
Chemical Engineering Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and some transdermal pharmaceutical experience is preferred. A combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
Must possess knowledge of engineering principles and a strong knowledge of process and tech transfers, Standard Operating Procedures, and cGMPs.
Must possess strong technical knowledge and the ability to think critically. Must have troubleshooting skills and have solid communication and writing skills. Must possess computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Preference given to knowledge of statistical software programs (MiniTab).
Position functions autonomously, with support from Technical Services Team members as needed.
Ability to read and interpret complex business and/or technical documents. Ability to write comprehensive reports and detailed business correspondence. Ability to work with managers or directors and communicate complex concepts. Ability to present to groups across the organization.
Ability to apply technical mathematical concepts and perform complex computations including statistics.
Ability to solve problems with a variety of concrete variables through semi-standardized solutions that require ingenuity and analysis. Ability to draw inferences and follow prescribed and detailed procedures to solve moderately complex problems.
Typically sitting at a desk or table. Intermittently sitting, standing, walking, or stooping. May be required to stand; walk; stoop; bend; kneel; and climb steps. May require use of hands and use of arms. Light lifting requirements. May be required to wear personal protective equipment including but not limited to: respiratory protection, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes, and protective clothing.
