The B&W Controls and Cleaning Performance group has an opening for a Controls Engineer in our Lancaster, OH location. This position will be responsible for interfacing with customers to design, configure, install, startup, tune, and troubleshoot control systems on a range of B&W products within the utility, pulp and paper, and industrial markets. The ideal candidate will have strong electrical/controls background with experience in PLC based control systems.
The Controls Engineer role includes:
Desire to learn and become proficient in supporting a wide range of controls product lines which include various PLC based control systems, PC based systems, and IR/Visible range camera systems.
Design, configure, test, startup, and troubleshoot controls hardware and software using provided reference programs. Integrated control systems composed of: PLC's (ControlLogix & RSLogix 5000), AC/DC drives (Powerflex), Servo Drives (Kinetics), HMI screens (RSView), electrical circuits, motors, and associated mechanical equipment.
Working with drafters to develop (Autocad) drawings to be used for production and installation of control systems.
Experience with Visual Studio C#/VB.NET computer programs is beneficial.
20-30% Travel primarily within the US domestic markets with the potential for occasional international travel as well.
Working independently and in a team environment within B&W and at customer sites.
Developing and delivering technical training to customers.
Preparing technical reports.
A commitment to adhere to all B&W and customer safety rules and regulations.

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical or equivalent working experience.

Ability to work and communicate with a project team that includes drafters, engineers, project managers, customers, manufacturing, field engineers, and operators.
Ability to accept technical direction and coaching from more senior engineers and managers.
Ability to lead hands-on troubleshooting for installation and startup activities.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and customer relationship skills.
Working knowledge of mechanical, thermodynamic, and fluid systems is also helpful.
