ABOUT THE POSITION:
Is this the right position to help you achieve your professional goals? Some of the key responsibilities for the As an Entry-Level Geotechnical Engineer position include:
Site investigation and characterization using geotechnical and environmental field and laboratory data;
Performing and reviewing engineering calculations;
Geotechnical design and analyses (e.g. slope stability, earthquake engineering, settlement, bearing capacity, earth retaining structures, seepage, etc.);
Preparing engineering drawings and performing civil/site layout and grading;
Water resources design and analyses (e.g. hydraulics, hydrologic analysis, floodplain hazard assessment, stormwater and contact water management, sediment and erosion control, etc.);
Developing construction documents and monitoring heavy civil construction projects (e.g., construction management, quality assurance, etc.);
Landfill and surface impoundment design, permitting, construction, closure, and remediation;
Forensic investigations and litigation support;
Dam and levee evaluations; and
Writing and reviewing engineering reports.

Training: This position requires OSHA health and safety, first aid, and CPR training and medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants
Fieldwork: Up to 50%
Overnight travel: Up to 30%

B.S. degree in geotechnical, civil, environmental, or mining engineering from an ABET-accredited University (required);
Advanced degree in geotechnical engineering (preferred);
Prior internship experience and/or experience with a civil contractor, public agency, or consulting firm (preferred);
Experience with Microsoft Office and other computer software (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, Adobe Acrobat Pro) (required);
Experience with geotechnical and civil engineering software (e.g. AutoCAD, Slide, Settle3D) (preferred)
Experience with ArcGIS, PLAXIS, HydroCAD, HEC-HMS (not required);
Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification, or the ability to obtain within six months of employment (required);
Ability to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) certification within four years of employment (required); and
Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record (required).
