This position is for an entry level External Aircraft Loads Analyst as part of the Lockheed Martin Skunk Works® Advanced Development Programs team located in Marietta, GA.
Employee will perform External Loads analysis on entire aircraft and aircraft components to include Design (Static) Loads as well as Operational Loads and Structural Design Criteria development, to support advanced design, airworthiness and structural integrity of multiple aircraft platforms.
Responsibilities to include: Performing External Loads analysis of New Designs, Aircraft Production, Retrofit Kits (to include flight loads, ground loads, miscellaneous loads), Development of Structural Design Criteria and involvement in various types of aircraft and component testing (Full Scale Static and Fatigue testing, Flight testing, etc.). Employee will write computer code to automate, enhance, or optimize assignments. Employee will be mentored / instructed by more senior structural analysts familiar with External Loads, Aerodynamics, Dynamics, Flight Controls and LM Aero analysis tools and processes. The candidate will participate in preliminary and detailed analysis of aircraft structures, structural assemblies, participation in trade studies and coordination with Integrated Product Teams.
Must be a US Citizen. This position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Mechanical, Structural, Aeronautical Engineering.
Knowledge of computer programming languages is highly desired.
Experience working with Microsoft Office Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
Exposure and experience with Linux OS and ORACLE databases, and skilled in one or more programming languages such as FORTRAN, VBA, MATLAB, C#, SQL, PERL or PYTHON is desired.
Familiarity with aerodynamics, flight controls and basic structural analysis is desired.
Knowledge of CAD, and Finite Element Modeling applications such as NASTRAN, PATRAN, ABAQUS, CATIA a plus..
