This position is located at the Carrier Planning Activity (CPA) which is part of the Program Executive Office (PEO) Carriers. The CPA develops and maintains core Aircraft Carrier life cycle technical and program processes and documentation such as the Aircraft Carrier Class Maintenance Plan (ACCMP), Incremental Maintenance Plan (IMP), Technical Foundation Paper (TFP), Life Cycle Engineering Plans (LCEPs) and the Corrosion Control Information Management System (CCIMS). The CPA develops and manages availability specific Baseline Availability Work Packages (BAWPs), integrating all (i.e. nuclear and non-nuclear) applicable and appropriate maintenance and modernization requirements in collaboration with outside activities for presentation to the Type Commanders.
Specific tasks for this position include the following:
Provide technical support in the principles, techniques and practices of mechanical engineering, electrical/electronics engineering and/or naval architecture as they relate to aircraft carrier hull, mechanical and electrical (HM&E), aviation and electronic shipboard systems. These tasks require extensive knowledge in the area of, but not limited to aircraft carrier maintenance philosophy, ship installation drawings, RCM principles and the ability to organize data in a cohesive manner to submit finding for evaluation and action;
Provide technical support for the development and management of the non-nuclear CMP, BAWPs and modernization for execution during CVN availabilities. Requires ensuring technical requirements, periodicities and associated configuration are current within each assigned CMP maintenance requirement to include integration of PMS Force Revisions. Examine opportunities to refine the CMP;
Retrieve, organize and analyze (e.g., maintenance, risk, material condition) data of specified systems or components based on specific criteria and submit finding for evaluation and action;
Assist in development of life-cycle strategies for aircraft carrier distributive systems and select components;
Develop and maintain metrics
US Citizen with SECRET Security Clearance
Bachelor's level degree in Mechanical Engineering required
Experience with data analytics & statistics preferred
1 year professional experience in engineering preferred
