Senior BI Developer
As an experienced BI Developer, you will be part of a fast paced, highly productive, dynamic and engaging IT team creating and maintaining efficient data solutions for business problems. You will be responsible for the design, full life cycle development, and implementation of reporting and analytical solutions, and support the integration of those applications into the Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP suite of applications. You will work closely with different application and internal business owners to turn data into information and knowledge that supports and helps business teams drive improvement in key business metrics, customer experience and business results.
Translate data into informative visuals and reports.
Power BI development and administration.
Develop visual reports and dashboards using Power BI desktop that will be embedded into Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP based on user requirements.
Collaborate with technical teams responsible for sources of data to ingest new data sets and maintain existing data flows.
Work with business teams to deliver effective, high value reporting solutions by leveraging an established delivery methodology.
Address production support break-fix in timely manner, keeping IT management and business informed of status and resolutions.
Provide on-call support outside normal business hours as needed.
Facilitate data visualization “office hours” to assist BI Analysts within the business units with difficult calculations and analysis configuration activities.
Provide status updates to the stakeholders. Identify obstacles and seek assistance with enough lead time to ensure on time delivery.
Demonstrate technical ability, thoroughness and accuracy in all assignments.
Keep abreast on all new tools and technologies that are related to our Enterprise data architecture.
Foster a positive work environment by promoting teamwork and open communication.
Create and execute independently on tasks assigned. Deliver on time, on budget and with high quality.
Proactively raise risks and issues. Translate technical information for all users, technical and non-technical.
Ensure that proper standards, policies and procedures are followed.
Develop, adhere to, and advocate for Data Warehouse development standards, including BI best practices
Requires a BS degree in computer science, MIS or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in visualization tools building reports/dashboards and BI applications
Minimum of 3+ years of experience and familiarity with Microsoft’s Business Intelligence stack, specifically Power BI, SSAS, SSRS and SSIS.
Strong understanding of SQL
Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Strong data analysis skills with ability to select/present or recommend appropriate data visuals
Ability to perform root cause analysis on views/business logic and optimize the data sets for BI applications
Experience with developing and deploy Power BI reports embedded into D365 Workspaces
Experience in creating Inquiries in D365 and developing printable reports in D365
Working with Print Management Reports (those are configurable reports)
Working with Data Import/Export and creating custom entities for DIXF to facilitate data distribution requirements
Dynamics 365 development certification preferable
Experience with deploying modern data solutions in a cloud computing environment leveraging components like Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Azure Data Lake, and DataBricks will be a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of database management and data warehouse concepts
Excellent working knowledge of key cross functional business processes
Thorough understanding and ability to lead through the software development life cycle
