The Software Engineer II is part of our Solutions Team within the Indeed Hiring Platform and is responsible for the implementation of technical solutions to help our clients automate their recruitment through to interview. The SWE must have a mix of technical, business and interpersonal skills to create solutions geared towards Indeed Hiring Platform’s clients.
The SWE will report to our Director of Engineering and is expected to collaborate closely with Product Managers and other stakeholders to deliver customized solutions but also determine opportunities to incorporate those solutions into the broader Indeed Hiring Platform Roadmap..
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Product Managers, designers & other engineers to translate customer business needs into workable, technical solutions on the Indeed Hire platform in a timely manner.
Joins and participates in client calls to best understand end to end client needs
Partners with internal stakeholders to influence action on unique client requests.
Regularly communicates project updates, progress, risks, and issues to internal and external stakeholders.
Provides support across multiple concurrent complex projects.
Build applications across a full stack of technologies
Continually improve our technical stack and processes
Maintain existing tools and infrastructure as necessary
Who You Are
You will be responsible for entire projects, from working with a Product Manager and a UX Designer on the problem being solved, possible solutions, the UI design, implementation and analytics. You should possess a mix of technical strength, business strength and good product ideas.

Is willing to work in a tech stack deemed most suitable for the project
Is excited to work on testing a variety of product ideas, either currently underway or conceived in the future
Understands costs associated with scope of work and can form solutions that are profitable for the company.
Requirements:
BS or MS in Computer Science (or equivalent)
Experience developing web applications with a modern Javascript framework: React, Angular, Vue (or similar frameworks)
Experience with full stack application development, including services development in Java (or similar OO languages)
Experience with data modeling and backend data stores, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, or DynamoDB (or similar data stores)
Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills
Deep understanding of best engineering practices for the full software development life cycle (SDLC), including coding standards, code review, source control, build, test, deploy, and operations

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees.
