POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Supervisor, Radiological Engineering, this position provides nuclear engineering experience in the area of reactor or waste shielding, dose analysis, radiation protection, reactor physics, or vessel fluence. The Radiological Engineering Analyst 3 will work collaboratively with experienced nuclear engineers and health physicists.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform engineering calculations and reviews, using industry-standard methods and simulation tools (e.g. MCNP, SCALE) with minimal supervision.
Conduct detailed, complex, independent analyses to support development of safety and radiological analyses with little to no supervision.
Effectively communicate with other technical and non-technical disciplines, customers, and regulators.
Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:
Education: A minimum of a B.S. degree in nuclear engineering or radiation health physics from a four year accredited college or university is required. ABET accredited engineering program preferred. Advance degree preferred.
Experience: A minimum of five years of full-time progressively responsible experience in one or more of the following disciplines is required: reactor physics, vessel fluence, radiation shielding, dose calculation and analysis, or other reactor analysis or engineering. Operating plant or facility experience a preferred.
Industry Requirements: Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
Quality Assurance: Demonstrated understanding and implementation of quality assurance regulations, standards and guidelines of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA-1 preferred.
