Technical support for finishing operations, including heat treatment of steel, threading and non-destructive testing to resolve multi-discipline problems. Maintain and improve standard procedures, train the operators. Reduce variations of key process indicators.
Lead the Continuous Improvement Team(s)
Benchmark the existing and evaluate new technologies, processes, materials.
Build technical capabilities, necessary to execute V&M Star strategy by identifying and presenting Capital Expenditure Projects.
Coordinate Project activities with Vallourec Process Communities, Vallourec R&D centers, external research organizations and universities.
Promote effective communication vertically and horizontally within the organization.
Use Manufacturing Process Control (MPC), Six Sigma and/or other advanced problem solving techniques such as Design of Experiments, process capability, SPC and FMEA to isolate and reduce sources of variation and resolve production and quality issues.
Implement root cause analysis and corrective action of non-conformance to mitigate rework, reduce cost and improve quality
Minimum educational requirement is BS or its equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, Metallurgical Engineering/Material Science or related disciplines.
Preferred Experience & Skills:
1-3 years steel industry experience preferred
Project management skills for process improvement and/or product
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with the organization, both vertically and horizontally
Strong decision making skills based on analytical approach to problem solving, including application of statistical techniques
Ability to work independently and execute objectives in a cross-functional team environment
Demonstrated leadership skills for potential carrier growth opportunities
