We are looking for an experienced Lead DevOps Engineer to join our growing IT team in Portland Maine. The successful candidate will work closely with our Software Developers and Systems Administrators to maintain and improve our CICD process including source control, builds, artifact management, release, deployment, server and cluster management, and monitoring/logging systems.
Auto Europe is well-established travel industry leader, founded in 1954 and servicing over 2 million travelers annually. Our footprint spans the globe with main offices in Portland, Maine, Lisbon, Munich and Sydney.
We are looking to direct hire an individual on a full-time or contract basis. Individual will need to periodically visit our Portland, ME office so candidates in ME, NH and northern MA are preferred.
Responsibilities:
· Collaborate with Software Engineers to design and implement application builds, releases, deployment and configuration tasks via our automation server pipeline
· Implement Monitoring and Alerting tools and solutions to provide visibility into the infrastructure and application performance utilizing ELK
· Work with System Administrators and Software Engineers to optimize performance
· Actively identify scaling issues and collaborate with System Administrators and Software Engineers to address them
· Take ownership of operational excellence and be the point of contact for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving production issues
Requirements:
· 5+ years of experience in a DevOps or similar role supporting high-volume web services and applications with minimal down time
· Experience setting up monitoring and alerting tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, jmxtrans-agent, ELK Stack
· Technical knowledge of DevOps methodologies and tools including CI/CD, Containerization, Orchestration, and Cloud Platforms
· Experience automating and streamlining build, test, and deployment phases for continuous integration and continuous deployment
· Experience with the following source control, automation, testing, artifact management, orchestration, containerization technologies, and Cloud Platforms is preferred:
o Source Control: Bitbucket, git, hg (minimal)
o Automation: Jenkins, Maven
o Testing: JUnit
o Artifact Management: Nexus, NuGet
o Containerization / Orchestration: Kubernetes Kubectl & Lens, Docker
o Cloud Platforms: Nutanix Prism, Nutanix Karbon
· Strong knowledge of security and recovery from a DevOps perspective, specifically Code Quality and Code Security. SonarQube preferred, other experience will be considered
· Working experience in a wide variety of databases specifically relational databases including Informix, MariaDB and Microsoft SQL Server
· Solid understanding of fundamental technologies like DNS, Load Balancing, SSL, certificate management, TCP/IP, networking, security best practices, performance, high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity
· 3+ years of software development experience preferably Java 8 or higher, Node.js, C# and/or Delphi, other experience will be considered
· Candidate must be comfortable in Windows or Linux environments. CentOS experience preferred, but other Linux experience will be considered
