Provide evaluation of supplier design(s) and comparisons against NASA reference design(s), using NASA EEE Parts standards and methods.
Review components by name and supplier submitted during design and hardware development for parts qualification, counterfeit parts prevention, screening, and EEE parts problem resolution.
Perform Government and Industry Data Exchange Program (GIDEP) searches on hardware parts and components to ensure parts are not included in the GIDEP database and to support major project reviews.
Analyze the GRC in-house design, and review/concur on supplier's analysis relating to radiation effects in the anticipated environment. Stay current with the latest developments within the EEE parts community and counterfeit parts prevention through the use of GIDEP and its database. Conduct parts list searches for projects
to ensure components have not been identified with known issues. Support the development of parts procurement specifications based on project reliability and assurance requirements.
Apply advanced understanding of electronic parts and project risk to define part quality requirements at onset of project work.
Provide design evaluations and associated risk(s) to project as requested, and for major milestone reviews per project schedule.
Provide recommendations on EEE, Complex Electronics and Mechanical part requirements and specifications per project schedule.
Provide analysis of radiation effects on the PPE flight hardware.
Provide procurement requirements as requested. Advise project management on highly complex electronic part selections that maximize reliability while considering schedule and cost constraints.
Report status for all elements of the electronic parts program to project management at monthly and project reviews.
Serve as an essential team member within the project, ensuring part reviews, screening, testing, and procurement meet project schedule and budget.
