Lockheed Martin's SOF GLSS (Special Operations Forces - Global Logistics Support Services), located in Lexington, KY is seeking an Aeronautical Engineer to support our Special Operations Forces Support Activity (SOFSA) Program.
The engineering team is focused mainly on modifying existing aircraft and integrating modified components into various platforms based on customer specifications, as the SOF program is critical to the success of US service men and women deployed throughout the world. With a mission to rapidly and properly equip the SOF community and its war fighters with the best possible systems and equipment anywhere in the world, we are seeking someone who is excited to be a part of the Lockheed SOF GLSS Team.
The position will require someone to execute tasks related to:
- analyzing and writing substantiation documentation, using ANSYS and FEMAP, based on customer requirements using applicable military specifications.
- utilization of MATHCAD and MATLAB for 'hand' calculations
- developing working models for integration of mechanical components
- supporting the installation/integration by providing analysis support to the mechanic workforce as required.
Bachelors in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited University with 2 years of professional hands-on experience or no experience required with a related Masters degree in engineering.

- general aviation knowledge
Experience with a FEM creation using ANSYS, NASTRAN, MATLAB or similar program. Experience with Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Demonstrated previous success working in a team based environment to meet objectives. MRB experience with Hangar support.
