Job Summary: The Senior Downstream Product Manager has direct product line responsibility for the Core & Medical Business Portfolio, with focus on global downstream marketing. This includes involvement in developing programs and tactics to grow share of current product lines and new to segment products. This person is a champion of highly technical products and demonstrates strength in franchise management, product launches and commercialization, and demonstrates a high level of business acumen.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
This position carries all the duties and responsibilities of the Product Manager position below; however, the senior position requires the individual have more experience and decision-making competency.
Serves as business owner for assigned product lines
Develops downstream marketing programs and tools to create value and support for channels
Evaluates promotional plans to ensure that they are consistent with product line strategy and that the message is effectively conveyed
Creates relationships and strategic partnerships with key opinion leaders to execute critical franchise & business initiatives. Drives education, market adoption and innovation of products
Develops global relationships and builds credibility with key internal cross-functional stakeholders
Serves as the subject matter expert for assigned products
Develops forecasts for supply chain as well as revenue planning w/ sales directors
Analyzes sales trends and performs customer / channel segmentation to drive strategic and tactical decision making
Designs strategies to maximize the profitability of product lines
Identifies product improvements and enhancements to assigned product lines using product lifecycle management tools such as price, profitability analysis, margin contribution and planned obsolescence.
Essential Supervisory Responsibilities:
Required Job Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Engineering, Science, Healthcare/Biomedical preferred)
Advanced degree (Masters, MBA) strongly preferred
4+ years of work experience in product marketing, preferably within medical device
Experience creating impactful business plans and developing value propositions, positioning and targeting
Experience building relationships with key customers and cross-functional partners
Pricing & profitability improvement initiatives a plus
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
