The New Iberia facility specializes in cold box assembly and fabrication, pressure vessels and other cryogenic equipment as used for the air separation and hydrocarbon industries. The end users of this equipment include all the major LNG, petrochemical and air separation engineering on a worldwide basis. The facility is located at the Port of Iberia.
The purpose of the Manufacturing Engineer is to define and support new and established processes and procedures in order to maintain and improve facility and equipment performance necessary to achieve safety, quality and production goals.
What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…
Plan, organize and implement systems and procedures for aiding manufacturing while adhering to and promoting safety and quality guidelines
Personally conduct and/or supervise studies to determine cause, effect and the corrective measures required to remedy deviations from desirable standards of production and quality
Monitor production processes and then work with Production personnel to create or enhance standard work procedures, enhance flow, and implement Lean concepts throughout the plant such as 5S, Visual Factory, Kanban, etc
Identify product assembly issues and work with production, engineering and maintenance to resolve issues and to improve product consistency and eliminate variances
Conduct time studies
Interface with various departments in coordinating technical and commercial information relating to specific projects
Interface with various departments in defining and providing solutions to manufacturing processes causing quality problems
Observe and practice safety procedures and policies
Capable of making recommendations on capital expenditure improvements
Project Management of capital expenditure equipment projects
Manage and champion a Continuous Improvement Program
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Management
3 – 5 years hands-on Manufacturing Engineer experience
Must possess a working knowledge of personal computers, including MS Word, Excel, Power Point. Autocad, a plus.
Understanding of fabrication performance metrics and six sigma.
Knowledge and understanding of safety procedures and policies.
Awareness and understanding of quality standards, capital equipment, procurement, FMEA, APQP
ISO 9001/ 14001 knowledge and experience preferred.
Understanding of MIG/GTAW/FCAW/SAW/Laser/Plasma welding practices
Must be a team player
Your Education Should Be…
BS/BA degree in Engineering – manufacturing, industrial, mechanical, electrical
