Structural Engineering Manager
We are seeking a senior level structural engineer to lead our structural group on new and retrofit utility generation and distribution projects. The role requires strong technical and interpersonal skills, in-depth knowledge of industrial building design and the installation of rotating machinery, the ability to develop and lead staff engineers, and experience guiding structural engineering projects from conceptual design to completion. A focus on client satisfaction is essential.
Our projects require creative problem-solving and close interaction with the other engineering disciplines in our office to be successful. The ability to understand and predict the behavior of structures qualitatively, without reliance on the development of complex computer models for the identification of basic design approaches, is a must. Independent critical thinking is essential, as the engineer in this position must be capable of utilizing the advanced design tools as a supplement to his or her in-depth understanding of structures.
The principal software packages utilized in our structural group presently are Revit, AutoCAD, RISA, NavisWorks, and BlueBeam. Experience with these tools is preferred, but experience with other brands of comparable software is acceptable.
A Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering and a PE License are required, along with the ability to obtain licenses in various states as required. A Master’s degree is a plus. A minimum of five years’ experience in a senior structural engineering role with independent responsibility for the selection and defense of design decisions, is required.
Competitive salary and benefits package. Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
