Job Description:
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Software Engineer Architect

Neustar is looking for the right candidate to join our highly technical team, working on real world, customer driven problems in support of our DDoS capabilities:
Develop features to process traffic across multiple layers (Layer 1 – Layer 7) in the network stack IPv4, IPv6, TCP, UDP, GTP.
Work with cutting edge technologies to solve our very complex customer problems.
Develop Solutions deployable in Enterprise, Data Center, Cloud Security Solutions
Take ownership for large software components
Work with multi-functional team members on user requirements, including but not limited to Product Management, QA, Support, etc.
Effectual decision-making, ownership and independently drive/lead tasks/assignments
Be a Self-motivated, Team player, can-do attitude and ability to take the initiative
Strong analytical skills for interpreting business requirements and translating them into technical specifications

BASIC / ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Experience Level:
Bachelors Degree in STEM focal area – Required
Masters Degree / PhD. Computer Science – Preferred
10+ years related work experience

Experience:
Expert in building and delivering high-performance real time application (user space) — Familiar with Intel Xeon architecture, multi-core, and multi-thread application
Expert in IPv6 & IPv4 server load balancing
Expert in design and implementing of the L2/L3/L4/L7 packet forwarding software
Familiar with SLB, which is capable of layer 2 switching, layer 3 routing and L7 switching
Expert in design and implementation of the multi-threaded multi-CPU TCP stack and the high-performance HTTP proxy
Expert in C & C++
Familiar with either PF-RING and/or DPDK SDK
Familiar with Cisco's Vector Packet Processing (VPP)
Experience mentoring/leading other engineers
Considered subject matter expert on multiple technology solutions areas
Able to collaborate effectively and articulate solutions with Neustar executive leadership and external customers
