JHFoster is a UL 508A & 698A panel shop seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our rapidly growing organization. This position will assist customers in achieving their safety, quality, productivity and automation needs. Job duties will include project management, generating layouts, bills of materials, and schematics using AutoCAD. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of Robotic, PLC and HMI programming, be proficient in project management, and have strong problem-solving skills. In this position you will also be working with a range of industrial robots. Responsible for the design, development, and implementation of electrical/robotic control systems.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, from beginning to end.
Responsible for PLC, HMI, Servo, Robotic programming and modifications.
Develop all project related documentation including wiring schematics, bill of materials, instructions, etc.
Assist sales with quoting, estimating, conceptual design.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to be applied in design, installation, commissioning and troubleshooting of automation systems.
Recognize customer concerns and address proactively.
Possess excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Lead all controls aspects for assigned projects in a team-oriented work environment.
Responsible for control system design and application of various technologies including image processing, vision-guided robots, industrial instrumentation and automatic control.
Partner with customers on technical projects.
Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests, start-up/commissioning at JHFoster and customer’s site.
Conduct product training for employees and customers.
Other duties as assigned by Manager.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
5+ years of industry-relevant experience required.
Working level knowledge of at least one robotic programming language (Kawasaki, Staubli, Fanuc, Kuka ABB, etc).
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects to meet production schedule/project requirements.
Working level knowledge of controls programming (ladder logic, structured text, flow chart) and experience with PC/PLC/motion/vision/robotics.
Capable of independently developing complex machine system controls including hardware layouts and specifications, operational descriptions and specifications and programming to satisfy these specifications, testing and implementation.
Advanced level ability to use AutoCAD and related electrical software design tools.
Experience with machine vision systems and motion control systems.
Startup/Commissioning of machine control systems preferred.
Computer experience with general business software including Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
Valid driver’s license and insurable required.
