The Ministry of Highways is seeking a highly-motivated individual with excellent engineering, interpersonal and consultative skills to join the provincial Asset Management team in Operation Standards branch located in Regina, Saskatoon or Prince Albert for a 12-month term position.

As a Preservation Planner, you will be responsible for planning, monitoring, reporting and analysis of the preservation and rehabilitation programs. You will be responsible for programing of preservation and rehabilitation projects for a variety of provincial assets including but not limited to culverts, equipment storage buildings, pavements, thin surfaced and gravel surfaced highways to ensure the long-term sustainability of the assets.

As a Preservation Planner you will be responsible for the collection, monitoring, analysis and presentation of information to guide infrastructure preservation and rehabilitation investment decisions. The Preservation Planner will research and monitor emerging transportation issues, trends, innovations and technologies in the area of asset management and preservation to aid processes of standards and program development.

The Preservation Planner is responsible for the use of the Ministry’s asset management software including VEMAX iBOS tools, and Deighton dTIMS. Experience with infrastructure asset management, pavement preservation, culvert rehabilitation, predictive modeling techniques and software used in the development and management of highway maintenance and preservation is considered an asset.

To qualify for the Preservation Planner position, you must possess a degree in engineering from an accredited university and be eligible for registration as a professional engineer or engineer-in-training with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS).

The successful candidate will be subject to a criminal record check as a condition of employment. Travel throughout the province is required.
