Job Description:

The Master Data Management (MDM) Application Architect role serves as part of our technical leadership within Information Technology. Application Architects are responsible for helping our Application Development teams design and implement solutions that meet project needs, but also take into consideration larger IT goals. Application Architects help define technical standards and best practices. The role also is responsible for looking ahead to help define new technologies and tools that will make Ferguson Development better.

Support project team delivery efforts for Master Data Management by architecting and developing common MDM application objects and data integration routines (i.e. hierarchies, attributes/properties, export/import routines, validations, business rules, workflows, UIs, restful APIs).
Provide technical leadership for MDM application integrations via Azure Cloud restful APIs
Prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written.
Responsible for analyzing and troubleshooting complex software problems and providing solutions to overcome those problems using the latest technologies.
Provide technical leadership on complex projects.
Complete unit testing for all developed code.
Complete architectural reviews of projects.
Complete project design and code reviews.
Review development practices to identify areas of improvement.
Assist project teams during load testing in problem identification and resolution.
Work with vendors to resolve 3rd Level or project issues.
Evaluate 3rd party development tools.
Mentor junior developers.


8+ years in application development, data analysis, data consolidation, or data management / governance
5+ years in data consolidation MDM and implementation developer roles; Ability to analyze sources, design consolidation rules, develop data load routines in batch and real time, cleanse, and merge/de-duplicate
5+ years technical knowledge on data architecture and data integration
3+ years direct experience in MDM analysis, design, development, support and operations with a leading MDM tool suite (Stibo, Oracle Product Hub / Engagement Hub / EDMCS preferred)
Oracle Cloud and Azure experience preferred but not required.
Should have data management experience (master data, metadata, data architecture, data governance, data quality, data modeling).
Experience working in a modern software development environment using practices such as continuous integration, continuous deployment, test driven development, Agile practices such as Scrum or Kanban.
A proven resource in defining systems strategy, developing systems requirements, designing and prototyping, testing, training, defining support procedures, and implementing practical business solutions under multiple deadlines.
Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint).
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Business Information Systems, or comparable experience is required to perform at expectation.
