The Application Engineer is responsible for providing technical assistance to ensure the appropriate application of Nook product(s). Fully understanding the customer’s needs and determining the best product, which will fulfill the need in a safe, cost effective way. Protecting Nook Industries from misapplication of product which might result in liability to the organization.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Communicate with customers via phone, e-mail, or in person to help them select the Nook product most appropriate for their applicator.
- Support the Sales Group with technical expertise of Nook Product and application understanding to help move the sales opportunity to a win.
- Address customers’ needs utilizing internal resources such as Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Shipping.
- Interact with CSR/SE/Return Coordinator concerning applications, technical questions and/or customer problems.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, or like discipline, or equivalent experience.
Prefer three years in an ISO registered manufacturing environment. Industrial automation experience preferred.
Solid understanding of engineering and manufacturing principles. Exposure to Lean manufacturing techniques to include participation in a Kaizen event, and principles of Six Sigma. Excellent communication and presentation skills, and the ability to converse intelligently concerning technical issues.
Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc:
Microsoft office products to include MS Project and Solid Works. Exposure to ERP systems and CRM software.
Internal: Discuss applications and answer technical questions on a daily basis for sales support. Work with sales engineers to transition opportunities to sales engineers, sr sales engineers when appropriate.
