JOB DESCRIPTION
Design machine automation programs for the projects / contracts to which he is assigned.
Participate in testing, installation and service of machines for projects / contracts to which he is assigned when required.
Provide other departments with technical support.
EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Must have a minimum of Electrical Engineering or Engineering degree in Automated Production or equivalent.
Must be familiar with programming software (PLC, HMI and Drive) for PLCs and Allen Bradley and Siemens branded interfaces. Knowledge of GE and Omron an asset.
Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design and controls for automated equipment.
Have knowledge and experience in programming robotic equipment (FANUC, ABB etc).
RESPONSIBILITIES
Validates the operation of its programs on the production floor.
Approves designs and operating modes of automatic equipment.
Design the machine programs for the projects / contracts to which it is assigned taking into account the project's as-signed budgets and customer specifications.
Comply with quality procedures related to design and engineering.
Participate in the development of the electrical engineering department.
Keep the electrical department software up-to-date on all workstations.
Promote a high level of quality in the electrical engineering department.
Checks his programs by using and signing the test case binder.
Promote technological development in the field of control.
Participate in trials when required.
Participate in startup at customer's site when required.
Participates in the quoting process for the electrical part of projects and advises the development of control concepts.
Maintains documents for all the modules for which he is the specialist.
Give special instructions to the test technician when required (special tests for program sections).
Meet the project manager to determine his mandate as to the operation of the machine he is to program.
Answer service calls as required.
Provide other departments with technical support.
Search for electrical components.
Participates in the design of security features on automatic equipment.
