Next Generation and Standards (NGS) within Intel Client & Internet of Things, Businesses & Systems Architecture Group (CISA) is responsible for researching, developing, prototyping and standardizing compelling Intel advanced technologies for next-generation wireless systems.
The candidate will work in this team as a Wireless Standards Systems Engineer responsible for technology development and performance evaluation towards the next generation wireless networks.
The position requires solid understanding of wireless access network communication principles; strong knowledge on PHY/MAC layer and network layer and cross layers design and inter-dependency; strong knowledge on wireless systems including 5G, LTE, WiFi and BlueTooth. The candidate must be a creative problem solver in 4G and 5G wireless systems and knowledgeable in wireless technologies including OFDM, device-to-device, relay, heterogeneous network, interference management, cooperative network, massive MIMO and mmWave communications.
Responsibilities of the role include, although not limited to:
Drive technology innovations and technical solutions on 5G and beyond wireless radio access technology
Contribute to 3GPP and IEEE standards groups through theoretical analysis and simulation
Support Wi-Fi and 5G products development and marketing decision aligned with standards
Involved in advanced research collaboration with external partners

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences. This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.
Candidate must have a PhD degree in Communications Engineering
3+ months experience with:
Communication theory and digital signal processing
Publications in high-quality journals and conferences
5G, LTE and Wi-Fi PHY/MAC protocol and implementation
Working in a multi-discipline team to design and develop a complete wireless communications system
Programming skills in Python, C, Matlab, Tensorflow, Keras, R, OPNET, or NS-3.
