The SQL Report Developer position requires the following skills/abilities:
Write, optimize/modify and troubleshoot complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
Develop and modify SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports.
Understand data sources and tables in data warehouse, how/when to use, etc.
Interpret and fulfill data requests for new reports/dashboards independently.
Ability to identify data discrepancies/quality issues; deep understanding of data validation.
Knowledge of best practices when dealing with relational databases and reporting.
Preferred, but not required:
Bachelor's degree with four years of experience
Knowledge of Tableau

Under limited supervision, prepares, compiles, analyzes, interprets, and reports financial, operational, and clinical data from a relational SQL database and from other sources to produce innovative reports, dashboards and visualization solutions for a variety initiatives for UNM Health Systems (UNMHS). Writes, tests, and troubleshoots code of advanced complexity.
Duties and Responsibilities
Designs and develops clinical, financial and operational reports, dashboards and visualizations for end users across the UNM Health System based on review and interpretation of business report requirements
Responsible for the development, implementation and/or optimization of queries and stored procedures using various tools and applications.
In collaboration with other various departments, including the Data Warehouse team, ensures that the data being imported is accurate by providing guidance on appropriate data sources, types, and structures needed to support reporting needs. Validates data and identifies issues.
Understands the data sources and systems that feed into the data warehouse or other data repositories (query extracts, tables, etc.). With minimal to no supervision can identify and troubleshoot problems within queries and propose resolutions.
Using knowledge of Data Governance and best practices, ensures reporting aligns with regulations and guidelines, and conformity with policies and procedures.
Supports and participates in organizational and process improvement initiatives; provides timely and relevant information towards these initiatives.
Responsible for working with and training end users on the use of data/reports/dashboards and front end reporting tools.
Documentation of queries, reports, dashboards, etc.
Routine maintenance activities.
10. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology, programming skills, and applications.
11. Manage and coordinate with I.T., activities and operations within the department to include the design, monitoring and upgrades of various reporting systems when needed.
12. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements
Successful completion of at least 60 college-level credit hours with at least seven (7) years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirements may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Verification of education and licensure will be required if selected for hire.
