POSITION SUMMARY

As an Application Engineer, you will be responsible for the development of EGR valves and cooler for ICE vehicles , you will also be supporting our High Voltage Coolant Heater for Electrical Vehicles . As part of Emissions, Thermal & Turbo Systems, you will work with OEM customers and a cross-functional global team (primarily Spain, Mexico, USA) to ensure design, testing, validation, and development of our products. This position will report directly to an Application Engineering Manager.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Functions as primary liaison between customer and all company technical activities.
Convert customer requirements documents into actionable tasks that prove conformance
Coordinate, track and execute validation testing with global team to ensure product conforms to customer specifications
Coordinate technical reviews and submission of deliverables in line with key program dates
Responsible for coordination of activities related to development and delivery of prototype products
For the HVCH, you will work according ASPICE compliant processes and take care of change management, configuration management as well as quality.
Act as lead for technical project management to ensure programs are flawlessly launched while maintaining customer action lists and ensuring customer needs are met
Lead problem resolution Team using the 8D method
To have a drive for results, enthusiasm and to be eager to learn
Other duties as assigned

Safety and Health – Responsible for completing required safety training, reporting, and correcting any unsafe practices as appropriate, completing work activities in a safe manner, and complying with safety and health requirements for respective position.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (Minimum Qualifications)

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
3 to 5 years related automotive technical experience – Engine area preferred (especially exhaust gas recirculation systems)
Experience with DFMEA and/or DRBFM
Experience in simulation (FEA and CFD) analysis and interpretation
Experience in product design or application engineering with customer interaction

KEY JOB SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

Strong understanding of product design concepts and processes
General understanding of drafting principle standards, including GD&T
Strong failure analysis and failure prevention skills
Strong risk analysis and mitigation skills
Good understanding OEM develop process and deliverables, including completion of necessary documentation.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Results driven, self-motivated and work well in difficult situations and with all levels of management and engineering.
Strong Problem Resolution skills (8D, RedX, 6 Sigma,…)
Fluid and / or thermal dynamics experience
General knowledge of mechatronic subsystems, including mechanical, electronics, heat flow, diagnostics & control software, and serial data communication preferred
Willingness to learn and develop and be part of the shift to Electrical Vehicle
