As a member of one of our Engineering teams, you will contribute to building solutions that use natural language processing, cognitive computing, and artificial intelligence applications or frameworks and infrastructure that support them.
The Principal Software Engineer will be part of a team of engineers and scientists that is responsible for all aspects of developing, testing and supporting an AI platform that is pushing the limits of the possible in understanding and acting on human-to-human conversations. While contributing to all aspects of product development, the position’s primary focus is the production implementations of AI algorithms, in particular in support of real-time spoken language recognition and understanding.
Essential Job Functions :
Apply domain knowledge and development skills to prototyping, evaluating and productizing product functionality.
Implement and improve machine learning algorithms for runtime, with attention to a range of competing metrics: increasing accuracy, reducing latency, reducing CPU and memory usage, resource usage (CPU, Memory, Storage, Network), and flexibility.
Implement variations on current machine learning training algorithms.
Contribute to the design and implementation of other aspects of the product, such as protocol modules, evaluation tools, training scripts, test frameworks, etc.
Effectively communicate within Interactions R&D, with Product Management, and with customers, to identify and specify new functionality, and to promote cross-Interactions technology integration.
Preparation, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong software skills in C++ systems-level programming, on Linux OS.
Demonstrable experience with implementing complex algorithms in real-time production systems; for example, DNN implementations, statistical functions, operations on FSMs, graph processing, etc.
Experience with the python programming language
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Proactive, independent problem solver; addresses complex challenges with both focus and curiosity.
Excellent collaboration skills.
Direct experience with implementing Automatic Speech Recognition and/or Natural Language Understanding products
