We are currently seeking a Junior Structural Designer/Drafter to join our dynamic team. As an integral member of the team, you will have the opportunity to work with senior designers to deliver structural design and drafting services. Your pride in supporting engineers in producing high quality, practical designs from concept through to commissioning will be a vital part of this diverse and interesting position.

Ability to work with limited supervision in accordance with established drafting protocols
Under the guidance of senior structural designers, use AutoCAD and Bentley ProSteel to Produces a variety of project 3D models and 2D plans, sections and elevations including:
Steel structures including piperacks, platforms and miscellaneous equipment supports.
Deep foundations including driven steel piles, helical piles and cast in place concrete piles.
Shallow foundations including spread footings and slab on grade.
Building layouts
Interprets and carries out creative ideas proposed by other engineers or designers
Assist in the preparation of reports and makes recommendations based on specified operational plans and established drafting protocols.
Follow company standards and EGBC,OQM procedures including checking drawings.
Prepare material cost estimates and material take-offs.
Assist in the Preparation of project documents such as structural specifications and contract documents while always ensuring technical accuracy.
Work with different disciplines to resolve design problems, discuss project criteria, and facilitate smooth project coordination.

Skills and Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in computer aided drafting.
Post-secondary education with a technical diploma in the Civil/Structural Engineering program would be an asset.
Interest in the oil and gas industry.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team.
Open-minded to follow instructions but with the ability to work with limited supervision.
Ability to complete assigned tasks and use judgment to solve problems based on guidelines and procedures.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Basic familiarity and understanding of engineering codes and standards.
Familiarity with MS Office.
Experience using AutoCAD
Experience with Bentley ProSteel would be an asset
Experience drafting offshore structures may be considered an asset.
