The Software Engineer will involve working with project stakeholders to define and analyze software requirements. This role may involve evaluation suitability of the software for hardware platform, develop (design, code, test) custom innovative software solutions, develop software testing procedures, document test results, and must be willing to try things without fear of failing and then having to start over. A Software Engineer at Applied may also create multiple levels of documentation for software architecture, work closely with the customer to effectively communicate project status, follow issues through to resolution completion, provide recommendations for customers based on an understanding of their business roles. Some travel is also required in this role.
Qualifications and Skills
B.S. degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
4+ years programming experience
Experience with the following: C, C++ programming or other assembly languages
Graphics programming with OpenGL preferred
Experience in game programming and/or simulation preferred
Experience working with unmanned aerial vehicles preferred
Experience with code optimization preferred
Excellent verbal/written communication skills
Excellent problem-solving skills
Attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work with little supervision
