***This position is located in Overland Park, KS***
Entry level position performing routine engineering functions on assigned projects or sub-projects of a general nature and limited scope by applying standard mathematical, physical science, and/or engineering technologies.
Completes assignments with detailed instructions
Ensures all assigned product drawings are complete and manufacturable. Ensures the planning elements and product design definitions are current and planning appropriately. Interacts with design agency, quality engineering, and suppliers to facilitate product realization and resolve manufacturability issues
Assists in the design and/or product management of new and current projects/products under technical guidance of higher level engineers or management
Assists in the preparation of product, tooling and inspection definitions and manufacturing specifications
Interacts with design agencies, suppliers, and internal organizations to assist in resolving design, development, production, and acceptance issues
Evaluates and makes recommendations regarding technological advances that improve productivity and quality, reduce flowtime, and enhance operational surety
Identifies and executes continuous improvement opportunities and defect preventions throughout the life cycle of the product
May perform other duties as required
You Must Have:
No prior experience required. Previous relevant internship experience or equivalent preferred
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited Engineering program or a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited program
Ability in analytical skills, mathematical computations, computer software applications, and written documentation
Ability to apply well established technical methodologies to routine engineering projects
Some positions within this classification may require unique engineering knowledge or coursework related to Mechanical Engineering
1-2 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering or related technical activities, including application of mechanical engineering principles and technology
Polymer plastics, composites and/or rubber materials experience
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) skills and experience
Advanced degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program
Six Sigma Green Belt
Currently active Q or Top Secret security clearance
Ability to work independently
Willingness to learn new technologies
An open, honest, and team-oriented personality
