Information Systems Engineer: Colleague Experience and Technology, Client Foundation Services

VMware is searching for an Information Systems Engineer. This role will be responsible for working with Workspace ONE UEM and projects around Zero Trust. As an Information Systems Engineer, you will be part of the VMWare Colleague Experience & Technology Information Systems team and will be working with some phenomenal minds of the End User Computing Division. You will be a service owner for various end-user computing products deployed internally and service more than 30,000 colleagues. You will likewise be coaching and supporting the group.
What is the primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for?
We need someone who can run the projects and operations of end-user computing technology services such as Workspace ONE Unified Endpoint Manager and all platforms for VMware. You will be expected to be an expert in all areas including Mac, Windows, iOS, Android, and Linux management. You will be expected to initiate the goals of the specialized issues in a brief period and work towards alleviating the recognized issues with a changeless fix. You will be drawing in with various Information Technology teams to improve the quality of the services and increment the user experience. Your work with VMware End User Computing Product development teams will improve our product.
What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
Showcasing your expertise in VMware End User Computing technologies, such as Workspace ONE UEM and mobile device management a service, would be a key success factor in your role
You will be expected to learn the new technology stack quickly and implement them in the production
You will be regularly evaluated on the quality of the service you provide to ensure continued advancement of your technical skills in an environment that looks to expand them.
You will be monitored on your ability to innovate in the end-user computing services, which is the organization that supports internal colleagues. You demonstrate individual traits and capabilities, such as basic reasoning, critical thinking, worldwide familiarity, user experience focus and leadership. You take initiative, are creative, and work well in a group.
You will be expected to suggest improvements to the existing technology architecture and process to reduce the reactive incidents by 20% and increase the User Experience.
What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
As part of the Client Foundation Services Team, you will:
Work with a team of global admins to maintain the corporate instance of Workspace ONE Unified Endpoint Management.
Work with InfoSec, Legal, R&D and various teams to help on: Compliance policies, Firewall enablement, managing any unmanaged devices, Linux management with Workspace ONE UEM
Work with Change Management around change control policies for applications being onboarded to Workspace ONE UEM
Work with other Admins to create new workflows, experiences and deliver quality services to our VMware colleagues
Create and Build Application packages for Workspace ONE UEM. Add, remove, and modify applications, profiles, scripts and systematic configurations.
Assist with the day to day activities around Application onboarding to Workspace ONE, Device Administration using Unified Endpoint Management Tool, and Application deployment and Administration
Provide regular feedback about the product to improve the products sold and used by VMware
Work on IT Operation escalations and attend the Escalation bridges to provide quick resolutions and work on the projects which improve the user experience.
Build Knowledgebase Articles for various End User Computing products for the internal reference
Dive deep to understand all layers of the services technology stack. Document the architecture, deployment, configuring and managing VMware Workspace ONE UEM
What is leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team?
The Hiring Manager for this role is a Senior Manager, Information Systems. His expertise is in various information technology streams such as Endpoint Management, Workspace ONE UEM, server administration, telecom management and multiple cloud services.
He leads our Colleague Experience & Technology Client Foundation Services team which consists of 10 engineers focused on increasing the overall colleague experience.
He strongly believes in passion and innovation being the core of the growth for the team and trusts his team to deliver. He comes from Apple originally before working at VMware, where his previous role was managing Mac systems. A few hobbies outside of work he enjoys include roller blading, feeding two giant cats, playing piano and playing with legos.
