Annual Salary Range: $45,288 - $75,432 (commensurate with experience)
Duties: Under the supervision of the Rail Facilities Maintenance Manager. At the Engineer I level, this position is the entry level class in the professional Engineering series, and assists in preparing designs, plans, specifications, estimates and reports for civil engineering projects under close and continuous supervision and according to well-established practices and procedures. At the Engineer III level, performs moderately difficult engineering work in the review and analysis of plans, specifications, and submittals related to the Honolulu Rail Transit Project for compliance with all applicable design criteria, project requirements, contract agreements, codes, standards, and regulations; assists with the coordination and management of work activities among staff, consultants, and local jurisdictions; and performs other related duties as required. A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major work in an engineering discipline.
Requirements: For the Engineer I level: Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in an engineering specialty. For the Engineer II level: Graduation from an accredited college or university with major work in engineering and one year of non-registered professional engineering experience. For the Engineer III level: Graduation from an accredited college or university with major work in engineering and two years of non-registered professional engineering experience.
