The Chief Mechanical Engineer supports efforts throughout the company to optimize the operation, performance, reliability and efficiency of all manufacturing processes and equipment. This position also provides project management skills to ensure the successful development and completion of projects within budget and on schedule.
Advises corporate and plant engineers and plant maintenance personnel in the implementation of best practices for reliability centered maintenance
Provides budgeting and project management oversight for cement plant kiln relines
Ensures that reline budgets are tracked and monitored throughout the process
Supervises the Reliability Engineer who performs reliability engineering and failure analysis assistance at the operating plants
Evaluates and optimizes maintenance practices and equipment reliability throughout the company
Train Personnel in reliability and best maintenance practices.
Oversees, advises and manages major plant maintenance projects, capital projects and upgrades/repairs equipment
Identifies problem areas and works with plant personnel, engineering and environmental staff to design and implement solutions
Manages capital improvement projects as assigned and reviews new capital project equipment designs and selections for best practice
Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Systems Engineering or Civil Engineering
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to work well with others
Minimum of 10 years experience in cement manufacturing including five or more years in maintenance supervision or plant engineering
