Minimum Education Required: Manufacturing/ Mechanical Engineering Degree OR applicable experience in manufacturing

Position Description: The employee will program multi-axis CNC equipment for the machining of castings and forgings to manufacture aerospace components using CAD/CAM software.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize CAD/CAM software (i.e. Siemens NX, Hypermill) to create 3D models of components, design component fixtures and generate tool paths (roughing and finishing).
  • Ability to process new components
  • Understanding how to interpret drawings, specifications and inspection requirements (GD&T)
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Team-oriented attitude
  • Program multi-axis mill and lathe centers
  • Determine cutting tools required to efficiently cut materials
  • Optimize programs for maximum efficiency (continuous improvement)
  • Design work instructions for operators to refer to for set-up and required tooling
  • Design machining fixtures
  • Establish a preliminary set of dimensional instructions for Quality department to begin their responsibilities.
  • Available to work overtime (if required)

Skills:

  • CNC programming capabilities
  • Advanced machining skills
  • Understanding Siemens NX Software (if experience in a different type of CAD/CAM can be trained)
  • G & M code programming
  • Capability to load/unload and set-up parts in CNC equipment (castings and forgings, fixtures, tooling, etc.)
