Ingersoll Cutting Tools Company is proud to be part of the IMC Group of Companies with 150 subsidiaries in 60 countries. Our US operations are housed on our state-of-the-art manufacturing and marketing campus in Rockford, Illinois. We are currently accepting applications for a Project Engineer.

Primary Responsibilities include:
Preparation and presentation of tool and tooling package quotations to our customers. This includes but is not limited to, working under broad company policies and guidelines to compile and execute detailed phases of engineering projects, including pricing, proposal, design, production and customer acceptance
Travel to customer worksites as necessary to support project
Work hours necessary to support project and complete tasks in accordance with established timeline and schedule, including overnight stays and extended hours as required

Skills/Qualifications:
Advanced knowledge of machine cutting tool fundamentals, applications, and cutting tool technologies
Working knowledge of Ingersoll-type product lines and the practical application of those products. Ability to analyze data, apply knowledge and promote metal cutting solutions in the marketplace
Ability to effectively communicate on various levels of the organization (internal and external) including emails, formal reports, individual and group presentations
Literate in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
CAD and/or Creo software experience preferred.
Requires 2 years of technical college coursework in engineering or related field (BSME preferred) PLUS a minimum of 7 years relevant experience* Or Minimum of 10 years relevant experience* with no advanced education credentials

  • relevant experience = such roles from within the metal removal industry as outside technical sales, inside product sales, product proposal, or application engineering; we will also consider a candidate with the required cumulative years of experience coming from a progressive multi-disciplined skill set from such roles as CNC machine set-up and operation, manual machinist, and NC programmer who have some prior work experience in organizing and executing administrative details
Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to work independently, be highly organized with a proven capacity to multi-task, exhibit excellent customer service skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, be computer literate, and have a professional demeanor with the ability to keep a cool head in stressful situations.
