Position Description
As a Metallurgical Engineer, responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:

Developing solutions and improvements for metallurgical components, processes and manufacturing systems
Serving as the technical advisor to Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing and suppliers for product and process issues for various teams
Exercising good judgment in planning, organizing, performing and coordinating engineering projects
Developing and updating Engineering documents such as Manufacturing Instructions, Drawings and Test Methods
Developing and implementing design and process improvements and monitoring effectiveness
Designing, investigating and developing new components, materials, manufacturing processes, fixtures and equipment
Identifying critical areas in the product or process and developing and updating FMEA documents
Leading and contributing to different projects across functional groups and guide involved team to achieve set goals
Interface with machine and tool shops for design and fabrication of new tooling
Leading department research for supplies, equipment, tooling and other materials
Supporting Engineering, Manufacturing and R&D Activities as well as new product launches
Position Requirements

This position requires the following skills and attributes:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Metallurgy, Material Science or related field
5-7 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
In-depth understanding of metallurgical properties and composition as well as related heat treatment processes
Strong understanding of mechanical concepts: Advanced manufacturing processes (MIM, heat treating, surface engineering & finishing, CNC Milling, grinding), mechanical and material stress analysis, designing for manufacturability, advanced 3D design work (preferably in SolidWorks), thermodynamics
Strong understanding of materials concepts: Metal injection molding (via experience), metal granular structure, component metrology, metallurgy, material phase diagrams, material micro-structures, crystallography, material properties and effects (mechanical/electrical/thermal/magnetic), mechanical testing, designing with composites, metal alloys
Ability to set up and optimize sintering programs for MIM components
Awareness of industry standards and process tests for quality inspections
Ability to apply and have a strong understanding of materials and mechanical engineering concepts
Experience using analytical techniques for the evaluation and solution of technical problems
Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, positive attitude, highly self-motivated, organizational skills and team player
