Energy Engineer

The Energy Engineer IV will provide energy engineering and mechanical systems design support for CLEAResult's Design Build team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Calculate energy savings for Design Build projects using standard engineering principles including physics, mechanics, fan laws, thermodynamics, algebra, and statistics
  • Key responsibilities of ‘Energy Engineer III’ and;
  • Lead important and complex technical work independently and with minimal technical supervision. Examples include Identify, lead, and qualify custom/M&V projects.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to our program teams related to subject matter expertise (esp. custom/M&V projects)
  • Develop project scopes, with oversight from engineering management
  • Lead other engineers in their technical work; able to lead teams of three engineers or more
  • Scope significant work for the engineering team; ensure the work of others is of high quality, on time, and on budget
  • Able to perform ASHRAE level III audits unassisted at large commercial and industrial facilities
  • Proven subject matter expert in several technical areas (e.g., RCx, MEP Design, Custom M&V, data centers)
  • Exercises in-depth knowledge, experience and independent judgment broadly across the industry
  • Technical lead for complex projects involving teams; responsible for anticipating and resolving technical issues that may compromise project scope
  • Primary liaisons – contractors, client project managers, and business development managers
  • Secondary additions – utility project engineers
  • Engineering representative in project development
  • Represent the Design Build team as a technical resource both inside and outside of the organization

Education and Experience:

  • Mechanical or Architectural Engineer
  • 6+ yrs. experience in Energy Engineering, Controls Commissioning or MEP Design
  • Custom M&V and energy analysis experience
  • Data Analytics
  • Good understanding of commercial mechanical systems

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $100,000.00 to $120,000.00 /year
