Stantec has an immediate need for a Senior Hydraulics & Hydrology (H&H) Stormwater Engineer in our Water Resources practice. Your Key Responsibilities

Follow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines for planning and executing work in a safe manner
Work in conjunction with and direct multi-discipline teams of engineers and scientists to solve project challenges, performing H&H modeling and design calculations as required
Lead and mentor younger staff and run projects and tasks with the assistance of other engineers or scientists
Work under minimal supervision with broad guidelines, to assign, review, and evaluate the performance of projects
Oversee the design and evaluation of stormwater modeling, facilities, and strategies
Develop design reports; Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to support Federal, State, Municipal and Private projects; Oversee various disciplines design and supporting modeling and calculations; assist in the development of Action Plans, stormwater master planning, regional flood planning and floodplain mapping
Assist with field assessments for H&H studies, watershed walkovers, stream assessments, and other projects
Attend and help moderate day-long project/contract meetings
Conduct peer and quality reviews on all applicable projects
Ensure strict compliance with contractual requirements
Coordinate with Stantec leadership and client contacts routinely to explore future opportunities, budget planning, and staff resourcing needs
Develop fee proposals for a variety of sizes and complexities, working with other task managers as needed to address all technical disciplines
Maintain consistently high standards of delivery, quality, flexibility, and innovation
Enhance the reputation of Stantec through preparation and presentation of papers at professional society conferences and seminars
Other duties or responsibilities as assigned

Your Capabilities and Credentials

High attention to detail, strength in time management and organizational skills, and good written and oral communication
Strong project management credentials, including but not limited to scoping, establishing schedules, project plan development, and routine tracking/reporting throughout project implementation
Proven capabilities/expertise in planning and design of stormwater and BMP projects
Knowledge of H&H practices, modeling methods, and design
Skill in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Project)
Previous experience with XPSWMM, HEC-RAS (1D/2D), HEC-HMS, GIS, MICROSTATION/GEOPAK strongly preferred
Strong ability to communicate in a professional and positive manner, both in writing and in person, with clients, employees and the general public
Ability to present to both small and large groups on a wide range of projects
Ability to work both independently and as part of a teamAbility to work in a highly automated design office environment
Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought
Ability to interpret sketches, engineering drawings, and other similar material

Education and Experience

Minimum of 10 years of professional work experience in H&H/stormwater engineering and modeling studies
Minimum of 2 years prior experience with large project or contract management responsibilities required
Bachelor of Science (minimum) in Civil, Water Resources, or other closely related degree required Masters preferred
Professional Licensure (PE) highly preferred
Project Management Professional (CFM & PMP) certification preferred

Typical office environment working with computers and working at a desk for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
