Summary: The person in this position is primarily responsible for supporting the Cote Blanche mining operations through financial analysis, technical expertise, and completion of engineering related projects and engineering.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: (Management reserves the right to add or modify the duties and responsibilities at any time.)

Assist with the engineering.
Support operations through project financial analysis and capital budgeting.
Develop and maintain short and long term mining plan as necessary.
Conduct underground ventilation surveys.
Make sure Ground control standards are implemented and develop Ground Control Plans.
Monitor Surveying activities and mapping.
Support the EHS Department with engineering/safety related projects.
Ensure compliance with MSHA, Company and QC requirements.
Develop ideas to improve profitability through cost savings and new opportunities.
Support Production and Maintenance through development, initiation and completion of efficiency enhancement related projects.
Support the EHS Department with engineering/safety related projects.

Ability to develop and maintain effective underground mine plans and timing.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering.
At least two years of underground mining environment experience.
Possess good background on ventilation and ground control.
Demonstrate excellent computer, communication and writing skills.
Demonstrate software proficiency with AutoCAD and Carlson.
Underground surveying and mapping. Using total station will be a plus.
Supervisory experience will be a plus.
Project and contractor management will be a plus.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Language Skills:
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before management.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
