KEY JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop, improve and monitor manufacturing processes for photonics components using semiconductor manufacturing tools, scale developed processes from pilot to volume production
Manage and improve automated assembly and test tools, facilities development
Develop applications organizing manufacturing data to enable statistical process control
Design product quality and performance tests
Perfect new product designs via performance and structural measurement
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
semiconductor manufacturing, especially experience in new process/product development desired
semiconductor tools and processes: Photolit, PVD, RIE, PECVD, wet chemistry/surface preparation and cleaning, direct wafer bonding, polishing, dicing, etc.
Metrology tools: SEM, optical microscope, thin film measurement, AFM, WLI.
Device testing, failure mode analysis, and quality control especially as relevant for optical devices.
Statistical process control of manufacturing processes
Creating/modifying applications that integrate control of positioning hardware with data acquisition by test instruments, subsequent data analysis based on LABVIEW, MATLAB, C#/C++ etc.
Solid track record of leadership and accomplishments.
Educational requirements: B.S./M.S. in physics, chemistry, material science or engineering
Experience: B.S. + 5 years, M.S. + 2 years
