SMAC manufactures linear motor based actuators that are superior to older tech pneumatic and electric actuators. Sales are growing at 30 - 40% annually and the Company is planning an IPO. SMAC Moving Coil Actuators feature programmable control of position, velocity, and force. With accelerations over 50 G and cycle life well over 100M, SMAC is rapidly replacing air cylinders in packaging and automotive applications as well as replacing ball screw actuators in electronic and biotech applications.
As part of our growth strategy, SMAC operates a Electronics Manufacturing Center in Derry New Hampshire. The company is adding quality/process engineering positions to support this effort.
Position – Quality Leader/Process Engineer–Will develop processes and controls for SMT equipment including Quad automatic pick and place machine, SPM screen printer, Quad reflow oven. Develop processes and controls for depaneling equipment, ultrasonic cleaner, and UV adhesives. Suggests new equipment and processes and troubleshooting to reduce or eliminate defects. Directs day to day activitiesof QC inspectors. A key component is developing and writing process procedures and work flow documents.
Qualifications : The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of SMT process design, Quality, troubleshooting and measurement experience. Experience with Kaizen, Statistical Process Control, and design of experiments is critical. Soldering experience or IPC-610 certification and a background in materials science.
