Reporting to the Senior Supervisor, Projects the Project Engineer is responsible for the successful execution of capital and non-routine projects. This includes ensuring the work is carried out safely, on schedule, within budget, and is technically sound and of the required quality. The Project Engineer is responsible for managing multi-disciplinary projects from initial project development through project execution and turnover/startup.

What you will do:
Manage projects of various disciplines, with an emphasis on electrical/instrumentation/automation projects
Lead the project team made up of representatives from different groups on site to complete project scopes on schedule and within budget
Complete preliminary development of new projects
Develop project execution plans and cost estimates
Complete all necessary documentation for internal project management/progression, as well as for archival reference
Manage projects on an ongoing basis including cost control, scope control, schedule control, and risk control
Make recommendations and be involved with important decision making on technical and complex aspects of projects

What you will bring:
University Degree in Engineering or Technical Diploma in Engineering Technology
Registration with APEGA or ASET (P.Eng, P.Tech, CET)
PMP certification an asset
Minimum 10 years direct project management experience, including preparing budgets, schedules, resource allocation plans, and project execution plans for multi-discipline projects
Minimum 5 years of experience working in an industrial plant
Working knowledge of ISA 84 and IEC 61511, Safety Lifecycle, SIS, and Functional Safety (minimum 5 years)
Working knowledge of industrial automation, control systems, and networking design, installation, and commissioning (10 years)
Working knowledge of industrial electrical power systems and CSA 22.1 Canadian Electrical Code (5 years)
Ability to coordinate a multi-disciplinary team
Ability to work with stakeholders to solve project issues (business case, scope, planning, project execution, etc.)
Ability to handle large and varied workload
Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong level of focus and concentration abilities
Strong attention to detail
Ability to learn and become proficient in Nutrien project software tools (SAP, SAP PPM, Primavera, etc.)
Proficient in using software tools, including Microsoft Office
