The Boeing Phantom Works Virtual Warfare Center is seeking an Entry-Level Systems Engineer to join its St. Louis Operations Analysis team.
Systems Engineer-Operations Analysts work with stakeholders and customers to answer “how” and “why” questions through constructive simulation and virtual experimentation using systems modeling, simulations, applied statistics, and informed engineering judgment.
This position will support Multi-Domain Operations studies designed to assess current and future military capabilities by leveraging contributions from systems that traditionally operate in one war-fighting domain such as land, sea, and space. The position requires working across multiple disciplines and a diverse organization of analysts, software developers, and business units to execute analysis using integrated software tools, simulations and data from multiple sources.
Develop constructive modeling and analysis skills to support trade studies of platforms and systems-of-systems
Directly interface and collaborate with internal business units
Understanding customer operational needs
Quantifying cost and effectiveness impacts for alternative systems and designs
Assessing the operational benefit of system improvements and upgrades
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Degree in the following disciplines highly preferred: Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science
Experience in the aerospace and defense industry
Active Secret or Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance
Python scripting experience
Experience using AFSIM, STK, and MATLAB
Communication skills including the ability to create and deliver technical presentations to diverse audiences
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
