We are currently in search of a Plastics Engineer to join our Other areas department of the Marquardt Group in our location Cazenovia (USA).

The Plastics Engineer position is to support the Operating Unit(s)/Operations group in the effort to solve technological problems in process and product in the Injection Molding process area and to support the systemic advancement of technology and staff.

Essential Responsibilities:
PROCESS ANALYSIS AND IMPROVEMENT
Supports (statistical) analysis of production processes with expert knowledge
Analyses interactions between product and process
Proposes technological measures to improve performance

STANDARDS & BEST PRACTICE
Implements, audits and further develops process standards
Actively participates technological best practice sharing across different levels in production network (Submission, definition and support of implementation in coordination with Operating Unit / Serial planer)

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT (CIP)
Supports continuous improvement projects and with technological knowledge
Evaluates improvement proposals and supports Operating units in implementation

PROBLEM SOLVING
Participates and supports the problem-solving process

ENGINEERING CHANGES
Supports implementation of engineering changes on request of serial planning / quality serial planning

NEW PROJECTS
Actively supports Serial Planer in new product industrialization projects and during new product launches
Participation in P-FMEA and execution of defined actions

SERIAL PRODUCTION
Ensure conformity of processes and operation to MQ standards

RESPONSIBILITY AND DECISION MAKING
Up to date for his/her technology
Implement new processes
Conformity of the process
Training of people on process related topic
Solving of technical issues

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university

Five plus years related experience and/or training
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from group managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Travel:
Ability to travel both domestically and internationally as needed.

Physical Demands:
The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Work Environment:
Employee is regularly required to work near moving mechanical parts.

Work environment is generally clean with a moderate noise level.

Recycling is required.
