LOOKING FOR: The Engineering Services Directorate (ESD) of AMERICAN SYSTEMS has an immediate opening for a self-motivated senior level Field Engineer capable of obtaining a Secret clearance. The candidate must be able to professionally interface with submarine crews, sponsors and shipyard/maintenance facility and support entities in Norwich, CT.

Work within the Engineering Services Directorate to perform system installations, grooms, upgrades and maintenance.

A week in the life of an Electronics Field Engineer:
Work a wide range of complex submarine equipment and systems. Responsible for testing, troubleshooting, installation, calibration, repair, and modification of equipment and systems.
Be able to solve technical problems in accordance with prescribed specifications. Work as an integral part of a team to conduct laboratory and shipboard work.
Conduct submarine ship checks to determine the necessary efforts to seamlessly install systems onboard a platform.
Draft Memorandums of Agreement, Work Authorization Forms, System Tagouts and Controlled work packages. Provide technical input and review for developing new Temporary Alterations (TempAlts), Operational Alterations (OpAlts) and Ship Alterations (ShipAlts).
Author detailed reports.

Job Requirements
Associated Degree in a Technical Discipline or Navy Technical Schools (Equivalent experience in lieu of a degree is two years’ experience for one year of school).
Ability to obtain a security clearance

At least 4+ years of experience in:
AN/BQQ-10 A-RCI Submarine Sonar systems
The utilization of common industry external test equipment such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes, power meters, frequency counters, spectrum and digital analyzers.
