The Product Engineer III - Controls position is responsible for the modelling, simulation, controls software and calibration of mechatronic devices for driveline applications. This position supports advanced product and vehicle development, as well as business pursuit, serial launch, and production support.

Key Accountabilities:
Lead the upfront component design activities for mechatronic driveline control systems
Translate vehicle and product requirements into control systems specifications to achieve desired function
Develop and apply validation test methods, tools, and processes to ensure system function and robustness, including simulation, SIL, and HIL
Create and develop control systems and calibration strategies
Support Product and Test Engineering during the development phase of new mechatronic products
Provide technical input to groups/individuals for engineering projects involving controls integration
Support customer technical meetings and presentations
Develops mechatronic hardware requirements and communicates them to the product teams, hardware suppliers and customers.
Support new business pursuit activities including review of technical documents (i.e. Statement of Work, Design Guides, Best Practices, Technical specification)
Develop engineering tools, test methods and procedures for accurate product performance evaluation
Support production launch activities for the responsible products
Develop and manage DVP&R based on technical specifications and product requirements
Support DFMEA activity for the responsible products

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent
5+ years of engineering experience designing and developing imbedded controls systems for driveline, transmission or related product
Proficient with controls systems development tools such as Matlab/Simulink/Simscape, Canalyzer, Canape
Ability to create dynamic simulations of mechatronic systems using Simulink/Simscape
Proficient with application of DFMEA, DVPR
Strong analytical skills with ability to conduct engineering calculations
Experience writing technical specifications, validation test procedures and test reports
Ability to support test trips and customer development activities

Strong decision making skills with the ability to grasp technical concepts.
Strong knowledge of mechanical/mechatronic systems.
