The Collins Aerospace Engineering Applications & Infrastructure Services organization is currently searching for a Principal Systems Engineer with a passion for problem solving and satisfying customers through the delivery of improvements to the global engineering ecosystem that provide compelling gains to the consistency, efficiency, and productivity of product development efforts across all of the Mission Systems Engineering and Technology business unit.
The qualified candidate will work with a team responsible for supporting the maturation of key emerging methods and differentiators required to position Collins Aerospace for both current and future growth opportunities; supporting our military and their partners. This includes, but is not limited to, model-based engineering processes, tools, techniques, and formal methods analysis.
The Engineering Applications & Infrastructure Services (AIS) organization has a need for a strong Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) domain lead. As engineering techniques continue to evolve, this MBSE lead will help to define the roadmap and mature our MBSE capabilities. The systems lead will also serve as the subject-matter expert for the AIS organization.
Learn the MBSE process as it is defined today through existing programs and the MBSE working groups. Once onboarded to the MBSE process, stay knowledgeable of the MBSE process and provide review/guidance to the architects responsible for MBSE roadmaps/process definition.
Systems Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Serve as a systems engineering subject-matter expert for multiple process and tool development initiatives. This includes ensuring that the complete systems engineering lifecycle is being considered during the planning and concept development phases of these initiatives, and occasionally supporting or leading trade studies and other analysis activities.

Experience with design, requirements capture, development, and integration of complex military systems
MBSE knowledge and experience, including an understanding of modeling techniques and principles, and the ability to think in abstract terms
Working knowledge of advanced modeling techniques including architectural analysis, design trades, and formal methods analysis
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in the appropriate discipline and 10 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the
appropriate discipline and 7 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required.
