PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful applicant will join ATR's Engineering and Systems Division, working as a team member at our government client site to perform finite element modelling and analysis in the field of structural acoustics and hydroacoustics as applied to Navy platform.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Science, or Mathematics
Advanced degree preferred
3-5 years of finite element modelling experience desired
Job experience with the Navy or other DoD laboratories is a plus
SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:
The successful candidate must have professional ability to apply scientific methodology to engineering problems, and must be a self-starter and willing to learn. We are looking for applicants with a high level of technical/intellectual curiosity and the ability to work independently.
Understanding of structural acoustics and hydroacoustics
Ability to perform finite element modelling and analysis
Ability to analyze and evaluate the acoustic behavior of Navy vessels and test article
Ability to design and evaluate acoustics signature mitigation techniques
Ability to write automation scripting tools using MATLAB
Knowledge of finite element analysis software such as Abaqus
Knowledge of finite element mesh generation tools such as Abaqus/CAE and HyperMesh
Candidate must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance or favorable adjudication of a national security background investigation. Current successful background investigation completion is strongly preferred.
