Covenant Care is looking for a dynamic Director of Construction and Environmental Services to lead the organization's construction planning and project management for our 30 facilities across CA & NV. This role does require about 75% of travel through the entire region.
Duties and Responsibilities will include :
Facility Assessment: A complete building audit is performed to document the information that will be the database for an equipment inventory and conditional report, preventative maintenance program and a three-year capital improvement plan. Each area of the facility is inspected and reviewed as to condition and adequacy. This information will be the foundation for several major programs and many data retrieval options.
Personnel Management: Effectively guide and lead direct reports to exceed performance objectives. Establish goals and tasks with timelines for completion. Effectively coach and mentor direct reports. Works with direct report to problem solve escalated matters.
Patient/Employee Safety: Fire safety, resident hazards and wandering prevention assessments are completed with corrections assigned and prevention developed and implemented.
Policies and Procedures: Policies are guided and designed to comply with regulatory agency requirements and Company Policy.
National Vendor and Service Contracts: A network of preferred vendors and service organizations negotiate for corporate purchasing programs to provide facilities with quality products, premier service and volume pricing.
Energy Efficiency, Revenue Recovery and Deregulations: All utilities are audited for proper and consistent rate, time of use codes and correct tax applications. States that allow deregulation of utilities are investigated for private provider incentives and options. Energy utilization and possible savings are reviewed. Systems are modified as needed within the budget structure. Possible utility provider contribution and rebate programs are investigated.
Construction Planning and Management: A system of evaluation checklists and questionnaires will be developed to determine and quantify construction and building modifications and addition needs. Standard procedures and use of materials will accompany all requests for work and will be incorporated for scopes of work. This will insure correct and consistent projects. Estimating aids and product costs will be catalogues to accurately budget work. Architects and engineers for each region will be retained to assist in the development and planning of projects where required.

Bachelor's Degree in Sciences or Related Field
Strong knowledge of OSHPD
Construction Management including regulations for Inpatient setting such as Skilled Nursing Facility / Long Term Care environments.
Experience Estimating and managing Budgets
Record of successfully managing Life Safety Surveys.
Savvy in computer usage for Construction and Financial Management
Hands on experience with TELS.
