Job Description


As the Sustaining Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to lead projects and solve manufacturing challenges at our plant in Orangeburg, South Carolina. You will communicate with external vendors and coordinate activities to complete the AHRI testing program. In this position, you will research and troubleshoot solutions for deviations in the manufacturing process (with partnership from design engineers as needed). You will support all Material Cost Out activities and manage projects through the design cycle, including coordinating testing at our lab in West Columbia, SC. This role is the perfect opportunity for an adaptable and interpersonal engineer to interact with multiple facets of the business, leading to future career paths in manufacturing, quality, or design.

You will report directly to the Sr. Manager, Sustaining and Technical Support, and will have dotted line responsibility to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

Additional Responsibilities:
Prepare design specifications, analyses and recommendations for presentation and approval.
Technical responsibility for planning, organizing and conducting technical projects or phases of projects involving design and development.
Coordinate the efforts of drafters/designers, engineering technicians and machine shop personnel as required by assigned projects.
Conduct independent technical investigations involving the origination or modification of material.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
5 years related experience.
Understanding of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
Experience with analytical and CAD software.
Requires knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
