The Overland Park, Kansas office is the headquarters for the oil refining licensing business which includes the STRATCO® alkylation and IsoTherming® hydroprocessing technologies. The business continues to grow and is in immediate need for a Senior Technical Sales Engineer to be located in Overland Park, Kansas. Key Responsibilities:The Senior Technical Sales Engineer will work as a part of the licensing group. This group is responsible for preparation of all technical and commercial proposals for alkylation and hydroprocessing licensing opportunities. This group works cross functionally with the regional sales teams, key technical members of the technology team and the commercial contracts team to lead the opportunity from conceptual phase through signature of the commercial agreements. The Senior Technical Sales Engineer will be primarily responsible for the development of alkylation and hydroprocessing technical proposals including heat and material balances, process modeling, equipment sizing and communicating technical details with potential customers. The candidate will work in a team to set priorities, analyze data and to provide the optimal technical solution. The candidate will also work in a team setting with the R&D and engineering groups in support of technology advances. Develop and deliver technical proposals which meet the needs of STRATCO® and IsoTherming® technologies and customers to include: review customer inquiries, complete process simulations, perform unit configuration analysis utilizing technical and commercial evaluation criteria based on the specific feed, utility and product values.Prepare clear and thorough documentation of key design points and sales/business/technical decisions made during proposal development. Use technical proposal templates to prepare final proposal deliverables including: process flow diagrams, process description, heat and material balances, equipment sizing, and product predictions.Utilize and maintain process simulators and engineering design tools for proposal development.Provide lead technical support at pre-contract customer meetings.Effectively communicate both written and verbal to internal and external customers.

Job QualificationsBachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering7-10 years of process engineering experienceAbility to analyze data, set priorities, organize tasks and meet deadlines, while coordinating multiple job functions.Ability to understand every aspect of a proprietary process, including chemistry, equipment, problems to avoid, research results, design standards, and technology history. Experience with process modeling simulators.
Additional Candidate Qualifications:Excellent communication skills to understand and document customer requirements and to effectively convey recommendations to other disciplines.Strong presentation skills including leading meeting and customer presentations.Ideal candidate is high-energy, creative, well-organized and a self-starter, who demonstrates technical excellence and is comfortable working in a team environment.Experience in the refining industry a plusWillingness to travel both domestic and internationally up to 25% on an annual basis.
